I watched this film by Thornton about half a year ago and really enjoyed its aesthetics and use of shape and combinations of shots within shots. These two images in particular that I have inserted above demonstrate what I found most engaging about the film. It produces for me an almost mathematical approach to art and I would argue this juxtaposition between science and art is at the heart of much of the experimental. This film came to mind when I was making my experiment called "Squares". In both my experiment and this film it is like there are many little frames making up a big one and I think that could be an interesting idea to work with.
