I decided to continue with my exploration of fracturing found footage by taking some of my own home videos and employing techniques that disrupted the natural flow of watching and blocked out much of the image for the viewer. This came out of me playing with the crop tool on premiere and seeing how it effected what was allowed to be seen by the viewer. Over the course of the video you are able to pretty much see every bit of the screen through these boxes, but just never at the same time. This for me became an interesting way of both bringing in my ideas about fracturing space and also about creating a sort of montage within the frame. Again, the idea of focusing on home video or found footage is really appealing to me as it is allowing me to play with time in a way that creates nostalgia and a way of literally cutting between time frames both within the editing software itself and thematically.
